What does Eight Eighty-Eight Coaching do?

Eight Eighty-Eight Coaching, LLC helps individuals, families, youth-serving programs, and organizations recognize inherited emotional patterns, improve communication, strengthen boundaries, and build healthier ways of living, leading, and serving.

Who is Calina Black?

Calina Black is The Cycle-Breaking Coach and founder of Eight Eighty-Eight Coaching, LLC. Her work combines coaching and mentoring experience, Social-Emotional Learning practices, culturally grounded reflection, emotional awareness, and spiritually respectful tools.

Is this therapy?

No. Coaching, consulting, educational resources, workshops, and assessments offered through Eight Eighty-Eight Coaching do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions and are not a substitute for therapy, medical care, or crisis support.

Individual and Family Support

What are Harambee 4 Me and Harambee 4 Us?

Harambee 4 Me is a customized cycle-breaking program for one adult. Harambee 4 Us is a customized family program for a client and up to three additional family members ages 10 and older. Both programs focus on emotional awareness, communication, boundaries, generational patterns, and practical integration.

How do I enroll in a Harambee program?

Harambee programs are currently offered through a waitlist. Visit the Work With Me page for current availability and the appropriate next step.

What is the Sh*t I Should've Been Released course?

It is a self-paced cycle-breaking course designed to help participants recognize generational patterns, examine survival-based habits, strengthen emotional awareness, and build a practical continuation plan.

How long do I have to complete the self-paced course?

Participants have 90 days from the date of purchase to complete the course.

How is the course delivered?

The course materials are delivered digitally as a PDF download. Assessments and other activities are accessed through links included within the course materials.

Why does the course include several assessments?

The assessments help participants establish a starting point, identify patterns, reflect on progress, and measure changes over time. They are educational and reflective tools, not clinical diagnostic tests.

Organizations, Schools, and Community Partners

What types of organizations can work with you?

Eight Eighty-Eight Coaching works with schools, nonprofits, youth-serving and family-serving organizations, community groups, faith-based organizations, wellness organizations, and other teams seeking a cycle-breaking, generational, emotional-awareness, or communication lens.

What organizational services are available?

Services may include strategic consultation, organizational assessments, program and curriculum review, custom curriculum development, workshop development, leadership and staff resources, assessment development, and cycle-breaking or generational-lens integration.

Are consulting, training, facilitation, and curriculum development the same service?

No. These are separately scoped services. Consulting provides analysis and recommendations. Development creates materials or systems. Training teaches people how to use knowledge or tools. Facilitation involves leading a session or process. Evaluation examines effectiveness or outcomes.

How does curriculum licensing work?

Eligible curriculum is offered through a Perpetual Organizational License. The purchasing organization may continue using the original purchased version within that organization without annual renewal. Future revisions, upgrades, added modules, customization, facilitator orientation, or training are separate purchases.

Does Calina have to facilitate a licensed curriculum?

No. Licensed curricula may include facilitator and implementation materials so the purchasing organization can deliver the program. Facilitator orientation or training can be added when needed.

How do organizational assessments work?

Assessments review current organizational programming and practices. They are designed to support reflection, identify strengths and gaps, and inform recommendations. They do not diagnose participants, provide trauma treatment, or determine whether an individual or family is healed.

Is Calina available for speaking engagements or workshops?

Yes. Inquiries are welcome for panels, workshops, podcasts, interviews, community conversations, professional learning, youth and family programming, and other aligned opportunities.

How do I request a consultation, workshop, interview, or partnership?
